The Technology Department offers a program of courses designed to develop a technology awareness in all of our students that will benefit them in their personal lives, enhance their contribution as citizens, and prepare them for college courses.

The Business Department offers a program of courses designed to develop an economic awareness in all of our students that will benefit them in their personal lives, and prepare them for college courses.

PRACTICAL ARTS DEPARTMENT GOALS

1. Students should be able to identify and apply various research techniques.

2. Students should be able to identify, evaluate and select appropriate resources when researching and learning new skills.

3. Students should be able to appropriately use technology and be able to identify and use the best tool for the task.

4. Students should be able to problem solve when encountering problems with technology.

5. Students should be familiar with the resources available within a library and navigate the available resources.

6. Students should be able to read books (literature, biographies, non-fiction), newspaper, manuals, computer screen, etc. for both pleasure and information.

7. Students should develop and demonstrate needed life skills such as balancing a check book, creating a resume, prepare for a job interview, as well as various computer and communication skills.

8. Students should demonstrate an awareness of global issues, cultural differences, and technology’s impact on society.
