Science Department

The science department  enables students to learn the important principles and concepts pertaining to each course;  to develop and apply the critical thinking, processing, and problem-solving skills necessary to scientific inquiry and applicable to the non-science disciplines; and to appreciate the natural world, both living and non-living, and our interdependence with it.


SCIENCE DEPARTMENT GOALS

1. Students will demonstrate the ability to use lab equipment appropriately and safely while correctly reading and following lab procedures.
2. Students will apply the scientific method and processes to evaluate and solve everyday global issues.
3. Students will be capable of working individually or collaboratively to attain a scientific learning objective.
4. Students will be able to develop hypothesis, to design and implement experimental procedures and then be able to evaluate and analyze the data.
5. Students will value and appreciate the diversity of life and the natural forces that shape our world.
6. Students will integrate information from multiple scientific disciplines and synthesize the information learned.
7. Students will be environmentally responsible citizens demonstrating knowledge of how humans impact the world around them.
